Bt 1571 how many rings
Quote from: kyber Message 3 of Message 4 of Aspiring Pro. Posts: 1, It would be the Truecall delay time that would need to be adjusted not the phone's. Message 5 of The Truecall delay is set just as we like it. The problem is PN cutting in sooner than BT. I am certainly not paying extra for a service that is merely a backup device. Clearly I have to turn off the PN answer phone service. Message 6 of I am unable to turn off voicemail because another service is pending activation.
That other services is already active and has been for some weeks but still shows as pending. I have raised a ticket in the pending status before and that was supposed to have been resolved. So we've decided to ditch the and buy a twin set of cordless phones with a built in answering machine.
I've been looking online at various models available, but I want one that I can set to nor 'answer the call' until at least 30 seconds. I can't find any mention of this feature on any site - can anyone help? Bethaneeny Posts: 10, Forum Member. I'm not sure how many rings in the answerphone cuts in, but it's more than 5!
Panasonic ones are great. We have 6 round our house! I think I know what is happening. The phone has the call blocking feature similar to my phone whereby the phone automatically answers the call after one ring, and asks the caller to leave their name. Only then does your phone ring Because the phone is effectively answering the call, it's bypassing entirely. Because as far as it is concerned, you've picked up the phone and are speaking to the caller.
It's working when the line is engaged because the call cannot be answered by the call blocker. I would recommend to do away with and make use of the answerphone integrated into the phone. The call blocking feature on the phone will work much better once you have caller ID activated, as when someone rings, you'll be able to 'press 2' to always allow that caller straight through. Message 5 of Reply 2 Thanks.
Message 6 of Message 7 of It will probably work once you get the caller ID working But only for number that you've already pressed '2' to always allow. Or that you've saved as a contact. For all other calls, where the call blocker intercepts and answers the call, it's never going to go to , no matter many rings they let it ring for. Message 8 of Reply 1 Thank. For reference this is what the BT user guide advises page extract attached.
Message 9 of I am a little surprised that no one here has been able to answer this. Perhaps very few people use either of the voicemail services? Message 2 of Not applicable. It was sometimes not quite long enough for me to get to the telephone.
Message 3 of This is what worries me. We could do with something in the region of 9 or 10 rings before it answers. I don't know much about normal answering machines either, but I had a feeling they answer in around 6 rings? So for our requirements they would be no better. I expect you could get an answering machine that could do 9 or 10, but I would think it would be designed for the business market and would be a lot more expensive. It would therefore be out of our price range, as we only want it for normal home use.
Message 4 of Posts: 5, Thanks: 2. Hi there, IIRC the standard voicemail cuts in after 6 full rings. This is only user-configurable on Voicemail Extra. Message 5 of Community Veteran. Posts: 1, Thanks: We're in the process of being moved over to Home Phone. We've signed up for as it's useful if someone calls when we're already on the phone. Otherwise, our answerphone takes care of any missed calls when we're out.
