What key are you talking about? The dungeon was unlocked IIRC, and I got both the ritual chamber key and the keep key as part of just regularly going through the dungeon.

What other key would Orthorn have that I might need? If Orthorn accompanies you, he unlocks doors so you would not be aware that a key is necessary.

The key is the Fellglow keep key. Two of the Fellglow Keep doors are short cuts. There may be a third locked door. There is a long way through the dungeon to the one connecting door which does not require a key. I took the long way in. I wanted to take a shortcut back though. There is also a chest behind the door. If this conversation takes place, a helpless Orthorn will watch as you collect the three books then return to his cell where he will wander around 24 hours a day, at times sitting down for a bite to eat, forever in the mercy of the Caller.
